  • 1907: bequeathed to his widow, Louisine Waldron Havemeyer (1855-1929)
  • 1929: bequeathed to her daughter, Adaline Havemeyer Frelinghuysen (1884-1963), Morristown, NJ;
  • 1963: passed by family descent to a private collector.

New York Herald, 2 March 1889, mentioned it as 'Also worthy of particular attention ... a delightful river scene by Dortrecht, with boats and windmills.'
