On the verso is a female figure, not by Whistler.
It is fully catalogued in MacDonald 1995 (cat. rais.) [more] (cat. no. 111). The Metropolitan Museum gives the title as 'Jem Bags' but since it depicts a bugler, the name 'Jem Bugs' may be correct.
