A composition in horizontal format, with the standing figure of a nude woman at left and three seated or reclining at right, possibly on the side of a bath.

Provenance

• 1903: in Whistler's studio at his death and bequeathed to his sister-in-law and executrix, Rosalind Birnie Philip (1873-1958);
• 1935: given to the University of Glasgow.

Exhibitions

There is no record of an exhibition in Whistler's lifetime.

By the terms of Miss Birnie Philip's gift, the drawing can not be lent for exhibition.
