• 1905: owned by James Thomas Knowles (1831-1908);
• 1908: possibly sold at auction, Knowles sale, Christie's, London, 27 May 1908 (lot 380) with 'Nude Female Studies', bought by Parsons, London dealer.
• 1927: bequeathed by Charles Deering (1852-1927) to the Art Institute of Chicago.
