Campo Santa Margherita lies north of the Zattere, beyond S. Maria del Carmine, in Dorsoduro, Venice. Passing the base of the old bell tower at the north end, one crosses the Rio Foscati into the Campo San Pantalon, to reach San Rocco and the Frari. ¹

• 1883/1886: bought by John Postle Heseltine (1843-1929);
• 1926: bought on 16 July by Colnaghi's, London dealers, and sold to Kennedy, New York dealer;
• 1928: bought on 15 February by Thomas Cochran (1871-1936);
• 1928: given anonymously to the Addison Gallery of American Art.
