A vertical composition: a view from above the beach, looking over to a calm sea under a sunny, cloudy sky. There are several chairs in the foregound, a red parasol at lower left, and several figures in the shallows at right.

1984: consigned in December to Knoedler's, New York art dealers (# KMC1362) and sold to Transco Energy Co., Houston, Texas;

1992: sold at auction, Sotheby's, New York, 3 December 1992 (lot 37) as 'Note in Opal - The Sands, Dieppe' [sic] and bought by a private collector.
