The Globe described it as a 'figure … strangely ill-proportioned'. 1 It was, according to Kay, a study of a woman with broad hips. 2

Kay thought 'the woman's hips a little too broad for beauty', which is not much help in identifying the drawing, except to indicate that it was the figure of a woman. 3
