Study of 'Harmony in Blue and Silver: Trouville' probably dates from early June 1892, when Whistler was urging Edward Guthrie Kennedy (1849-1932) to buy pictures owned by John Cavafy (1839-1901). This envelope was sent to Kennedy, as a reminder of the case, in a letter dated 10 June 1892. 1
