This was intended as a lithograph but could not be transferred to stone or printed. The drawing is on the matt side of papier végétal lithographic transfer paper obtained from the Paris printers Lemercier & Cie, instead of on the gummed side of the paper, and so it could not be transferred to a lithographic stone for printing. There is a slight grain on the drawing that could have come from it being laid on a grained surface. The sheet has pinholes at the corners.
