• 1903: probably bought from Whistler by Richard Albert Canfield (1855-1914), Providence, RI;
• 1914: bought on 12 March by Knoedler's, New York dealers, and sold on 4 April to William Welles Bosworth (1869-1966), New York;
• 1924: bought back by Knoedler's, and sold to a private collector, New York.
• 1986: sold at auction in New York in March and bought by Sylvan Cole, New York dealer;
• 1986: bought in June by private collectors, Buffalo, NY.
